Tracking Load Carriers in Intralogistics:

Stock and Status Always at a Glance

Do you always know the exact location of your load carriers? At any point in time, do you have exact information on their status? And above all, how quickly can you determine freely available capacities in view of the allocation of new orders? Permanent load carrier or container tracking in intralogistics is economically indispensable, as this is the only way to avoid search times and prevent you from having to build up expensive safety stocks. Continuous tracking of load carriers along the value-added chain ensures both stock transparency and high availability.

Seamless registration of load carriers at goods receipt provides the basis for follow-up processes

  • Automatic registration of RFID-tagged circulating or standard containers in goods receipt
  • Automatic account postings (customer debits and credits)
  • Untagged load carriers (e.g. foreign containers) must be temporarily tagged to ensure their integration and tracking in the intralogistics cycle. This helps avoid expensive compensation or penalty payments

Load carrier localisation and status

  • Warehouse inbound: RFID gates automatically register all containers
  • Automatic detection of direction: inbound / outbound
  • Permanent container tracking
  • Container inventory

Container transparency in production

  • 1st production stage: transparency about storage location and status of the load carrier
  • Permanent transparency of "available" / "unavailable" containers
  • Transparency of container status, e.g. "filled", i.e. not available

Container status and location in the warehouse

  • Finished goods warehouse: information on the location, number and status of all load carriers in the warehouse
  • Automatic RFID registration and material posting at central transfer points (e.g. warehouse entrance gate).
  • Container posting per storage bin. For this purpose, the use of mobile terminals is recommended (hybrid solution: RFID and barcode or Kathrein RTLS).

Correct posting of container accounts, balancing of customer accounts

  • Outbound: container posting at the exact location
  • Loading control via RFID gates for quality assurance and customer allocation
  • Postings or debiting of the customer account are carried out automatically
  • Transparency about containers that are available ("free") again after completion of the loading process
